Our Privacy Commitment

Hope Church of Tipton is committed to protecting the privacy of its members.

The personal information you share with Hope Church of Tipton will be used to support the administration and management of ministries, delivery of services and maintaining programs offered by Hope Church of Tipton.  We protect the personal information and adhere to all legislative requirements with respect to protecting privacy.

Why Does Hope Church of Tipton Gather Personal Information?

Personal information is any information that identifies you as an individual.  Hope Church of Tipton collects personal information for a variety of purposes, such as:

  •   Church Membership registration and listings;
  •   Church Directories
  •   Volunteer and leadership development;
  •   Program and service registration, administration and delivery;
  •   Counseling and prayer support; and
  •   Church administration (tithing, offerings, payments owing, etc.)

 

How Does Hope Church of Tipton ensure privacy protections?

We collect, use and disclose personal information only for the purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate for the administration and management of a church organization.We will not sell or share any personal data to or with any entity outside of our local church.

Access to your personal information is on a “need to know” basis.  We inform our church personnel and volunteers of the importance of protecting your personal information.  We will also advise all church volunteers that personal information obtained during their service cannot be used for any purposes other than authorized church ministry.
We will maintain adequate physical, procedural and electronic security with respect to offices and information storage facilities (e.g. filing cabinets) so as to protect personal information against such risks as unauthorized access, use, disclosure or destruction.

Tithing and Offering Information

Access to information regarding your tithes and offerings to Hope Church of Tipton is restricted to: the church volunteers who collect and count the offerings; the Church Secretary for processing your income tax receipts; the Pastor and/or the Assistant Pastor, and the Treasurer who signs the offering tax receipts.

You have the right to request access to information about your tithes and offerings. However, you do not have the right to access tithing/offering information to other identifiable Hope Church of Tipton members without their written consent.  If You may access aggregate tithing/offering information not linked to an identifiable member in accordance with Hope Church of Tipton Bylaws.  All requests for access must be submitted to the Church office and we will endeavour to respond to your access request as soon as possible.

Prayer Requests

We encourage our members to share their prayer requests so that we as a church may pray together.  We recognize some of the requests are sensitive and very personal.  We will ensure that the personal information contained in our prayer request list be limited only to the amount necessary. Prayer requests may also be dissemnated via text messages or a private page on our website (available only to voting or non-voting members who have a website account with us). Prayer requests will not be posted to the website’s public prayer request page without your permission.

By submitting a prayer request or a testimony through our website’s prayer request service, you are authorizing Hope Church of Tipton to post the request or testimony to our website and to disseminate the request or testimony to our members. Last names will not br posted to the webaite without your express permission.

Photographs

Hope Church of Tipton sometimes takes photographs and videos at various church events, including church services. These will sometimes be used in promotional materials, including our website. We will make a reasonable attempt to ask your permission to use images which might be deemed of a personal nature (such as baptisms). If you object to our use of an image in which you appear and are recognizable, we will cease to use that image at your request.

We will carefully review the purpose and need before posting personal information on our church website.  If personal information is posted, we will limit the amount of personal information to that which is necessary.

Links and External Content

We provide some links which take you off of our website to a website which is not owned or operated by Hope Church of Tipton (external content). In such cases, while you are viewing   external content, this Privacy Policiy no longer applies.
